OilCast Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
OilCast shows information about the oil market. We built it to collect as little about you as possible.
What we don't collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No location, contacts, photos or other personal data.
- No advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No analytics tools or third-party SDKs inside the app.
What we store
Only if you turn on EIA report alerts, we store:
- Your device's push notification token, which Apple provides so we can send you alerts. It doesn't identify you personally.
- Whether alerts are on, and whether you have OilCast Pro, so alerts go only to Pro subscribers who asked for them.
This is kept on Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Turning alerts off stops all notifications right away, and the stored token is deleted automatically after 90 days without the app being opened, or as soon as Apple tells us it's no longer valid (for example, after you delete the app). We never sell or share it.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your device.
Market data and AI summaries
Market data comes from public U.S. government sources: the Energy Information Administration, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED), the CFTC and the National Hurricane Center. Plain-English summaries are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) from that public data only. None of your information is sent to it.
Children
OilCast is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Not financial advice
OilCast is for information and education only. It does not tell you what to trade.
